Rete dei Comunisti
Speech at the peace march on 9 May
80 years ago the Red Army defeated the Nazi regime, and a new period began for the humanity, especially for the people who were oppressed by a fascist regime, like Italy, where the fascist movement took power for the first time in Europe, defeating the workers movement and their organizations in order to reestablish a political order serving the interests of the ruling class.
The Communist Party which was formed in the ’21, after two years of harsh class struggle at the end of the first World War without a revolutionary direction, was the only organization going underground and operating during the almost twenty years of fascist regime that tried to build his Empire alongside the other imperialist countries. The antifascist movement in Italy was helped only by the USSR and the Communist International
Members of the communist party took part in the International Brigades in the Spain and lost their lives, fighting for the Republic also against the fascists who were supporting Franco’s Coup.
Most of who fought in Spain and than in France Resistance (FTP-MOI), were leaders in the Armed Struggle against the nazi occupation and the fascist in Italy in ’43-’45 – which was started by the communist party (Gruppi d’Azione Patriottica) – that builded a broader antifascist.
The Resistance in Stalingrad was an example of struggle for the working class in his activity, and showed how the Peoples of the USSR can resist the Nazi Occupation of the Barbarossa Operation.
The strikes, the sabotages, the different actions took inspiration from the USSR.
Many soviet former prisoners reached out to join the partisans, and gave their lives to Liberate Italy, why many Italians after the defeat in Donbas were treated with humanity by soviet citizens even if they were former members of an occupation army of a colonial regime.
After the Second World War the working class knew new possibilities of improvement of their both political rights and social guarantees, entering a new phase of class struggle.
Nowadays the imperialist UE deny the role of the URSS, the leading factor of the PCI during the Armed Struggle, and even forget the soviet partisans who died in Italy, and it is a duty for the communists in our country to keep on the struggle to remember one of the brightest pages of the history of communism.
